Your Advocate
Hi, my name is Erika...

I have been a nurse at the bedside for 20 years. During my time in healthcare and at the bedside it has become increasingly clear that patients need to be able to advocate for themselves or have someone that advocates for their healthcare needs. The unfortunate reality is there are less support staff, which increases the nurses workload, leaving space for medical error. It's not only nurses having increased workloads, it's the physicians too, leaving ourselves or loved ones at risk of being a victim of medical error.
That's where I come in, many times patients and families feel lost in the healthcare system, I'm here to help it feel less stressful. I have experience working in the hospital setting along with home care, infusion nursing and group homes.
So, no matter your health situation I can help!

Myrtle healthcare was built from a personal experience before I was a nurse. My grandma, whose name was Myrtle, had taken a fall suffering a head injury. She required a drain, this helped relieve the pressure in her head. We had just visited and went home, no more than walked in the door and the hospital had called saying she was being rushed to emergency surgery as the neurosurgeon pulled the drain at the bedside and their was an issue, my grandma had significant bleeding on the brain. When we arrived, I will never forget the feeling of the nurse that was caring for my grandma when this happened... something went wrong but we could all tell she knew she couldn't say anything because her job would be on the line. I vowed from this moment forward, that when I became a nurse, I would always say something. This is what fuels my passion to support patients and families, which I have done at the bedside and now have the opportunity to so in the role of a personal healthcare advocate for you or your loved one.

In addition, the Myrtle Tree in the bible symbolizes life, growth and fertility.
